WHAT IS A CLAIM?

A claim is the payment made by the insurer (Insurance Company) to the policyholder or claimant on the occurrence of the event which is specified in the Policy Bond.

Types of claims
Claims are of three types:

  • Death Claim
  • Rider Claim
  • Maturity Claim

Claim intimation

In case a claim arises you should:

  • Contact your nearest Bharti AXA Life Branch (List of Branches) or
  • Contact your insurance advisor or
  • Call our Customer Helpline at 022 – 40182300 or Toll Free 1800 – 102 – 4444 ((for Airtel, BPL, Spice and Shyam Tel Subscribers) and 1800 – 425 – 1350 (for MTNL / BSNL subscribers) or and 1800 – 22 – 4441 (for MTNL / BSNL subscribers) or
  • Write to us at service@bharti-axalife.com

Please attach a copy of the Death Certificate issued by the Municipal Authorities for your death claim intimation to be accepted.

On receipt of a written claim intimation, Bharti AXA Life will send an acknowledgement letter listing the claim requirements along with the claim forms to the Claimant.

For Death Claim:

  • Death Certificate
  • Original Policy Bond
  • Claim Forms along with supporting documents


For Accidental Disability / Critical Illness Claim:

  • Copies of Medical Records, Test Reports, Discharge Summary, Admission Records of hospitals and Laboratories.
  • Original Policy Bond
  • Claim Forms along with supporting documents


For Maturity Claims:

  • Original Policy Bond
  • Maturity Claim Form


Bharti AXA Life reserves the right to call for any additional information and documents required to satisfy itself as to the validity of the claim.

FAQ's


  • How much time it will take to settle the Claim?
    Claim settlement time depends on complete submission of Claim documents as required by the company. At Bharti Axa Life Insurance we endeavor to settle a claim in 7 working days from the date of receipt of the last pending document. However in case we need to investigate the matter the time required for settling the claim would be extended.

  • What am I supposed to do as a Claimant?
    As a Claimant you need to submit all documents as required by the Company which should be complete and attested. The Claimant needs to co-operate with the Company for processing/investigating the claim.

  • When can I Claim for a Critical Illness Rider?
    If you have opted for Critical Illness Rider at the inception of the Policy and if you have contracted any of the Critical Illness specified in the Rider Policy Bond, you can claim for Critical Illness Rider, claim shall however be subject to provisions in the Rider Policy Bond.

  • Will I be Re-imbursed the treatment cost in Critical Illness Rider?
    In case of contraction of Critical Illness as specified in the Rider Policy Bond and subject to the provisions contained in the Rider Policy Bond, a fixed Sum Assured as specified in the Policy Specifications shall be payable. This is irrespective of the treatment cost.

  • Where should I submit all the Claim forms and documents pertaining to the claim?
    All duly completed Claim forms and documents can be submitted to the nearest Bharti AXA Life Insurance Company Limited branch office. For details kindly refer list of Branches

  • To whom would the Claim monies be paid?
    In case the Policyholder and Life Insured are different persons, the Claim monies would be paid to the Policyholder. In case the Policyholder and Life Insured is a same person, the claim monies will be paid to the nominee/appointee (in case of a minor nominee) as specified by the Policyholder in the proposal form for Insurance or as communicated by the Policyholder from time-to-time.

  • How will I know the status of my Claim?
